Smeegol is based on the netbook user interface that came from the MeeGo™* project. Smeegol offers the latest Banshee’s powerful music player, a newer Evolution Express as mail and agenda client and several additional social networks.

Smeegol is very good on an acer aspire One.
Maybe a 1.2 compil?
Ihave so trouble, when i clone your appliance. so some obscure thing some thing is wrong with the
“package banshee-1-client-meego”
How can i do to remove the fault?
I need to clone to add the GMA500 aka Poulsbo driver in.

Just loaded Smeegol on a new Samsung NC110, and, after adding ndiswrapper from the wireless repository and updating all the software to latest versions, it’s working very well for me.
It’s a pity Meego seems to have been diverted onto different tracks. This is just what I need and want. Simple & fast. Long running life.
Very good job this first version.
When a new version with MeeGo 1.2 ?
the testdrive doesn’t work.
I know that Meego needs 3D acceleration enabled. Does this requirement exist for Smeegol?
I might add the Meego/Moblin to my appliance (Xinux) thinks about it……..
So, is there any chance of seeing a 11.4-based smeegol?

How to convert raw to iso image
To my knowledge you should just change file extension from .raw to .iso
I found Tomaz’s tip necessary in order to have Smeegol automatically boot into the Meego UX. However, the wifi doesn’t work at all with an Intel 5100 card. Additionally, the power manager claims that I don’t have a battery installed. This is all while being run from a live USB on a netbook. The positives: I like how the dockbar hides, Meego should implement this feature by default.
Can you make a new clone of it so all can enjoy it please?
Hi, I made a clone of Smeegol, which can be found here. If you have issues logging in/getting to the desktop this should hopefully fix it. But do note, no other changes were made. To be honest I’d wait to see if Fedora will release a Meego spin in a couple weeks, because this seems more like an alpha, alteast when tested from a Mini 9 w/ Intel 5100 wifi. http://susegallery.com/a/yHh8HE/unofficial-smeegol-login-fixed
Don’t bother making suggestions here. The developer won’t answer, or read it. Smeegol is just a piece of s***
@Orb Yes, I tried the clone it and edit it BUT I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HOW HE MADE THIS!
A dumb question: I came to this page by searching in Google for Smeegol Screen-shots, so why this page is named blah-blah-galery, when there are not any screen-shots? What is Suse Gallery?

This build doesn’t work at all. After login the screen just turns purple blank.

i tried in VirtualBox and got a blank screen.
I then tried here in testdrive and get only twn, am i missing something? Is there a way to launch the right interface?
Just edit /etc/syconfig/windowmanager and change meego to startmoblin

Yes, kind of, the fonts are corrupted, the screen is empty but for the panel and then i’m back at xdm when i click on something.
A word of caution about the current state of the appliance might have been helpfull. :)
Work. if you download and start on Your computer. On ‘test drive’ there are issuess as you write.
