Horneker Linux 2012 -- Tabby Edition
This is my first attempt to create a Linux distribution suitable for home and small business use. The resulting product was inspired by the PCLinuxOS distribution, with the obvious difference being that this was built on the OpenSuSE 12.1 distribution. Also, GNOME comes installed on the DVD in addition to XFCE, LXDE, IceWM, and WindowMaker for desktops.
PCLinuxOS integration is planned for this distribution, as well as Enterprise Editions (Desktop and Server).
Because of the size of the ISO file, this version can only be written to DVD and flash drives/memory cards of at least 4GB in capacity.
For changes to the setup to work properly, you will either need to install this on your hard drive, or boot from a flash drive or memory card.
Also, after booting Horneker Linux, type “linux” to logon to the GNOME desktop, and type “linux” for the administrator password while running this as a LiveDVD.
This is the Tabby Edition, suitable for the home and small business environment.
Because the Live Installer is included here, you must download the ISO from here.
Also, the 0.0.x versions of the LiveDVD are testing ISOs. When Horneker Linux is released officially, the version will start with 1.0.0.

Burn this ISO file to a DVD (or CD, if the space allows), and you'll be able to boot directly from the disc.
Release notes
Some of the fat (packages not really necessary, but nice to have) has been trimmed off this release to reduce the size of the ISO. Also, the “iw” package was inserted so the automatic configuration can utilize wireless network devices.
This is the sixth test DVD image. The problem with YaST reverting to text mode at boot time has been fixed.

Only the 0.0.6 ISO is available. This version has the YaST problem rectified, so you can boot right into the login screen.
To login, click on tux and type linux in for the password.
Downloading now, I’m eager to try it :-)
