Ruby on Rails Developer
We are an international team of developers, designers, QA and deployment engineers working on the SUSE appliance toolkit. Our mission is to make building appliances and custom Linux fast and easy with SUSE Studio, in your browser, to provide web-based tools to manage appliances, and keep them up-to-date with recent patches for included software packages. We love to learn, are passionate about our applications, and our prime goal is to create a great experience to our users.
You will join a team of engineers creating the most exciting tools to build your own flavors of Linux (appliances).
Responsibilities
- Your job will focus on the web side of those tools, like WebYaST and susestudio.com
- You work closely with designers to create great ajax web user experiences
- You work with system engineers to create REST APIs and libraries to inter- operate with the system and other tools
Qualifications & Required Skills
- You love the web, but you also know Linux very well.
- You love ruby and rails elegance, but you are not afraid of using C to get access to the lower party test oriented development is not only something you like, but something you can't work without.
- You have taste and sense of good user experience, and you can exploit jQuery and CSS to help the browser provide that experience.
- You follow Ruby and Rails communities, and are always up to date with latest developments and techniques.
- You have published your own libraries, applications or forked someone else's repositories to improve them, and you can point us to your work in github.com, sf.net or similar sites.
- You are a team player.
- Your work style is autonomous and results oriented.
- You are passionate about creating excellent software which meets the goals of its users.
- You are proficient in English.
